Restoration work

Another specialty of Mike’s Panel Shop and a personal passion is restoring classic cars, trucks and hot rods to their former glory. In Palmerston, North Mike’s Panel Shop is fast developing a reputation for this work.  ‘Whether it’s a chev truck that’s been lying about in an old farm shed or a classic car that’s been hanging around the back yard for years, I can restore it to look like a show piece,’ says Mike.

With the front section and front guards removed, the extent of the rust damage can be seen.

Once the deck had been removed, it became apparent that the body had a serious rust problem.

Restoration well underway with cab completed, deck skimmed & refitted, front guards and bonnet re-shaped and secured to chassis.
